World Soil Day

World Soil Day aims to connect people with the soil, and to raise awareness of the critical importance of soil in their lives.
Soil is the basis for food, feed, fuel and fibre production and for services to ecosystems and human well-being.
Next year, 2015, will be celebrated by the United Nations, scientific and agricultural organizations and peoples' groups as International Year of Soil.

The earth crossed the line of sustainability

At this time, when we are nearing the 2015 initiative to make poverty history,
the increasing unsustainable growth of humanity is squashing that dream of ever being realized.


Seventy five percent of the human population is struggling to survive.

There simply are not enough resources to continue feeding the world at the current poverty crises rate;
Let alone when poverty is history and everyone can financially afford to buy food.

Humanity has to reduce its birth rate and strive for a zero population growth.

There is not enough space on earth to grow food to end hunger without destroying
our natural resources that is already at unsustainable level.   

There is an urgency to address two main problems.
1.    The glut among high earners and
2.    The birth rate of the poverty-stricken masses.

We need to strive for only live child per woman.

Every birth should consciously be planned and every child should have the right to enjoy all that the earth and her environment has to offer. 


It is time that we are educated to become responsible for the space we occupy on earth.

The power of the future should be in our hands.

Have you ever thought how much fish the world harvest from the sea for human consumption each day

I HEAR NO LIONS ROARING ...

The Dead Lion Poem 

The canned jungle-king song (Based on "The Lion Song" )

I hear lions roaring in the jungles of Africa
I see people dancing in their kraals in the jungles of Africa.

The lion is a symbol of power and freedom for Africa.

(Background sound:   Distant drums and African dancing in the background of the roar of the king of the jungle)

…………… I hear the lions roaring      ……………

I hear the lions roaring in the jungles of Africa.
I hear tourists singing while drums are beating the reserves in Africa.
I see poachers hiding where the lions are roaring in the jungles of Africa
I hear gun shots and no more roaring in the jungles of Africa.

They killed the symbol of power and freedom in the jungles of Africa.   ……………………………..

(Background sound:    laughter and jollification in the backdrop of jungle sounds. Then a single far off gunshot …. Silence ……)

I think I heard far-off lions roaring  ……………………. on a game farm in Africa!

I hear people are now mining where the lions were roaring jungles was in Africa.


I hear caged lions roaring in the can-farms in Africa.
Tourists go target shooting, while people go hungry in the cities of Africa.
The lions'-roar on the can-farms are silenced by gunshot!
There is no lion-king to kill in the jungles of Africa.


(Background sound: traffic noise, the hustle and bustle of city noise,  -  police sirens,  gunshots and people screaming  )

I hear no lions roaring  …………………………………  except in the can-farms of Africa.


(Back ground sound:    a lone baby crying)

A crying baby is a symbol for a generation born in a world without free roaming wildlife.





The jungle KING IS DEAD!            Long live the can-farm king!

I hear gun-shots in the can-farms of Africa.
